Holly (Harris) Rohrbacher graduated from BHS in 2003 and then headed off to Washington State University for four years of starting as a middle hitter on the school varsity volleyball team. Now she has been named head volleyball coach at Bainbridge High School. Spartan athletic director Kaycee Taylor made the announcement yesterday, February 23.

Rohrbacher replaces former Coach Julie Miller who resigned earlier this year.

Taylor said he was “excited to find what I think is a perfect fit for the volleyball coach at Bainbridge High School. Holly’s experience, energy, and passion will no doubt bring continued success to the program.”

Rohrbacher brings significant experience to the job. After graduation from WSU, she began a coaching career, working as head volleyball coach at Foster High School and Port Townsend High School and as Director of the Bainbridge Island Volleyball Club.

At WSU Rohrbacher also played one year of basketball.

She expressed her excitement about the new job: “I can’t wait to begin training this talented group of players. I’m excited to be at a school with exceptional academics, parent involvement and community support.”

Her goal is to make Bainbridge High School “a consistently competitive program and a team whose culture the players are proud to be associated with.”

Rohrbacher is also a professional events coordinator and has worked in that capacity with IslandWood, the Bloedel Reserve, Bainbridge Community Foundation, and Friends of the Farms. She has served on the Board of Directors of KidsUp! and was Board President of Island Cooperative Preschool. Since 2013 she has served as the Executive Director of One Call for All.
